The Miss Juneteenth Nevada Scholarship Program Pageant is dedicated to empowering and uplifting young women in Nevada by providing a platform that celebrates their intelligence, talent, and cultural heritage.

Our mission is to foster personal and academic growth, instill confidence, and promote community engagement. Through a commitment to education, mentorship, and the principles of Juneteenth, we aim to inspire participants to become leaders and advocates for positive change in their communities. The program is dedicated to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and the pursuit of higher education, offering scholarships that pave the way for academic excellence. We strive to create an environment where contestants develop lifelong skills, build meaningful connections, and embrace their roles as ambassadors of unity and empowerment. Miss Juneteenth Nevada Scholarship Program Pageant is not merely a competition; it is a transformative journey that equips young women with the tools to succeed and make a lasting impact on the world.

About

          Miss Juneteenth Louisiana is a subsidiary of the SWLA Juneteenth Committee, Inc., a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization began in Louisiana in 2003. In 2021 they received the passage of the Juneteenth National Independence Day holiday.  Juneteenth was introduced to 47 states and the District of Columbia by the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation. Juneteenth resonates deeply with the essence of education, unity, diversity, freedom, and the profound significance of Juneteenth.
​          Miss Juneteenth is an integral part of the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation as the contestants who grace the stage aren't just participants; they're ambassadors of history, carrying forward the legacy of Juneteenth.  This journey is a transformative experience that nurtures confidence, self-assurance, and self-awareness. Participants walk this path not merely to compete but to grow, to inspire, and to pay homage to the spirit of Juneteenth.  
​          Miss Juneteenth Louisiana Pageant is a lighthouse, guiding young women towards self-discovery, unity, and empowerment.  
         Remember Juneteenth isn't merely a page in history; it's a living, breathing testament to the strength of the human spirit.  Let us continue to move forward to bring all Americans together, celebrating our shared bond of freedom. Through recognition, observance, education, and historic preservation, Juneteenth stands as a bridge that connects us to our collective heritage.

Scholarship Program Pageant Requirements

 

MJSP OFFICIAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

All Delegates Must:
• Be between the ages of 8 and 19.
• Be of good health, moral character, and born female.
• Not consume any illegal substance(s) that renders harm to her body, mind, and to spirit.
• Determine a social advocacy platform (a social issue/cause to which you are committed and can effectively advocate for change or development).
• Attend required engagements or events that pertain to Juneteenth, or the promotion thereof. (Advance notice will be provided in a timely manner.)
• Be ready, willing, and able to meet the time commitments and responsibilities of the one-year reign/tenure, as set forth in The National Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program Official Rules and Guidelines.
*Failure to comply with the above requirements will constitute a relinquishment of the National Miss Juneteenth title. Therefore, all prizes (cash, scholarships, crown, and title) must be surrendered. The first runner-up will thereby assume the position for the remaining tenure. All other title holders will remain in their positions.

 

Character Of A Queen
​The character of National Miss Juneteenth is a young woman of faith, courage, patriotism, being dutiful to her family, and her church community. There must be a distinct charm in her aspect and manner since, “She obtained favor in the sight of all of them that looked upon her.” ~Esther 2:15

 

COMPETITION JUDGING & SCORING


Criteria for Scoring:
The National Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program insists on PROFESSIONAL HONESTY from its judging panel. Each judge is entrusted with the preservation and perpetuation of the goals, objectives, and spirit of fairness.
All National Miss Juneteenth candidates should possess the following "Qualities and Attributes:"
• she is a young lady sensitive to her environment and caring about some "troublesome issues" facing the world.
• She works in a defined way towards viable solutions.
• She works to use her crown and its celebrity to make a difference in the world
• She understands that she is chosen to be a role model.
• She strives to make achievements that distinguish her as one of the top influencers amongst teens in the USA.
• She is a leader by virtue of her experiences
• She understands she is expected to be an independent, eloquent communicator with the "courage of her convictions."
• She shall maintain a confident and commanding presence.
• She is beautiful on the inside and out.

 

Fundraising Ads
All participants are required to raise funds by selling ads for the 2025 Miss Juneteenth Official Souvenir Program Booklet with a minimum amount raised $500.00.
Deadline for submission of ads is May 15, 2025.

 

Essay Competition
All participants are responsible for submitting an essay that summarizes their platform topic and issues. Shall also provide a statement and structural outline of how their platform could implement during their reign as The National Miss Juneteenth. The following guidelines should be followed in preparing your essay:
• May not be less than 500 words
• Must be written in English.
• Must be typed and printed (handwritten essays will not be judged), double-spaced with one-inch margins, using Times New Roman 12pt font.
• Must be submitted electronically by email (the email address will be provided)
• Must have a proper heading e.g., writer’s full name, title of paper, address, telephone number, email address (if available), and date of birth.
Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program Handbook
• All submissions shall become property of NMJSP / National Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program.
• Must be submitted to the scholarship committee by or before May 15, 2025.
• Essay Contest winners shall be announced during the Official Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant in June 2025.

​Titleholder's Responsibility: As the titleholder of National Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program, you agree that if you fail to operate or live up to the expectation or adhere to the rules, regulations and terms or obligations hereof, this could result in your disqualification and the relinquishing of your title. You would be expected to immediately return all cash prizes, scholarships, crown, and sash.


PARENTAL/GUARDIAN INVOLVEMENT ARE MANDATORY. THE “NATIONAL MISS JUNETEENTH” SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT PROGRAM MUST HAVE PARENTAL GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE ONE -YEAR REIGN.
